On another positive note, the Prime Minister, António Costa has declared that not only has the foreign investment which was planned for Portugal before the pandemic been maintained, but also there has been as increase in interest.

Foreign investment in Portugal that was already foreseen before the pandemic will continue, even in the anticipated crisis scenario. In addition, the Prime Minister guaranteed that there are even more companies indicating that they are interested in investing in Portugal.

All those intending to make direct foreign direct investment in Portugal have reaffirmed their intention to invest and even make new investments: “We have even received signs of interest from other companies to invest in Portugal.”

Costa also said that this interest is seen in several sectors of the economy. Apart from private foreign investment in Portugal, the public investment foreseen in the State Budget for 2020 will also be maintained.
